Ajmer Central Jail Inmate Dies at JLN Hospital, Judicial Inquiry Underway

The deceased has been identified as Nauratan Singh, son of Lal Singh. He was a resident of Pawansut Colony, located on Jaipur Road in Ajmer, specifically from the Bhopo ka Bada, Meershali area.

Details of the Case and Hospitalization

Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhim Singh from Civil Lines Police Station provided details, stating that Nauratan Singh was serving a sentence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments (NI) Act, commonly known as a cheque bounce case. His health deteriorated, leading to his admission to JLN Hospital on the 21st of this month.

Despite medical efforts, Nauratan Singh succumbed during his treatment at the hospital, prompting the official investigation and judicial oversight.

Family's Stance and Ongoing Procedures

Police officials also shared a peculiar detail regarding the family. Two or three days prior to his death, when attempts were made to inform his relatives about his hospitalization, his sister-in-law reportedly denied any association with him. Following his demise, the family has been re-notified, and police are currently awaiting their arrival to proceed with further steps.

As per protocol, the post-mortem examination and further investigation into the case will be conducted under the direct supervision of a judicial officer. Should the family members not present themselves, law enforcement will proceed with the necessary actions as per established regulations.
