On his way, he encountered three brothers—Jinu, Sawan, and Kewal—along with their associate, Tarun. The group, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, had reportedly lost money in a match or gambling session and began demanding a loan from Sohil.

Sohil explained to them that the money he had was for his vehicle expenses and household needs, politely declining their request. This refusal, however, quickly escalated into a sudden and violent assault by the accused individuals.
