Ajmer: Lawyer and Brother-in-Law Brutally Attacked by 15-20 Assailants, Gold Chain and Bike Looted

Incident Sparked by Protest Against Drunken Behaviour

According to ASI Shilu Kumar of the Civil Lines police station, the victims were Advocate Hemant Kumar Mudgal, a local resident, and his brother-in-law, Mohit Sharma, who had traveled from Rewari, Haryana, to celebrate Rakhi.

The incident unfolded between 12:30 AM and 1:00 AM on August 28. The two were on their way to inspect the advocate's new chamber at the Session Court when they encountered 3-4 youths consuming alcohol on the road near the CBSE Regional Office. A dispute erupted when the advocate and his brother-in-law objected to the youths blocking the path and using abusive language.

Attackers Called Reinforcements, Launched Vicious Assault

Reports indicate that the initial group of youths promptly called for backup. Within moments, 15 to 20 more individuals arrived on 5-7 motorcycles, surrounding and launching a deadly assault on the advocate and his brother-in-law. Mohit Sharma identified some of the attackers by names such as Sunny, Kunal, Manjeet, and Pankey.

Both victims sustained severe injuries to their hands and legs. During the brutal attack, the assailants snatched Mohit's gold chain and also took their motorcycle before fleeing the scene.

Police transported the injured men to JLN Hospital in Ajmer, from where they were subsequently referred to Bhilwara due to the gravity of their condition. The Civil Lines police have registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) against the named individuals and other unidentified accused, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.
