Pushkar's Iconic Rangji Temple Dazzles in Centenary Celebrations

Saty Narayan Ramawat, the temple manager, shared details about the elaborate preparations. A massive yagyashala, three attractive stages, and an air-conditioned pandal have been set up in the sports ground for the ceremonies. Forty priests from the Ramanuj sect in Chennai are conducting the rituals following Dravidian traditions, while local Rajasthani pandits guide the patrons in offering oblations into the nine-kund Mahayagya. A separate Havana kund has also been arranged specifically for the temple trust.

A Journey Through Devotion and Tradition

The festivities began with Adhivas and Tirumanjan Abhishek. On Saturday evening, Lord Vishvaksen's procession, carried on a golden Mangalgiri, reached the garden behind the temple for the Mridaharan ritual. This was followed by Ankuraaropan, Ankura Hom, and Som Kumbh Sthapana.

Sunday morning saw the Bal Bhog ceremony, leading into a magnificent procession of Lord Vaikunthnath with Sridevi and Bhudevi. Accompanied by traditional music and fanfare, the procession wound through major routes before arriving at Pradhan Varah Ghat. Here, after prayers at the Pushkar Sarovar, the deities received a milk anointing (Dugdh Abhishek) and Tirumanjan Abhishek. The yagya mandap then hosted Tulsi-Pushpa Archana, Shricharan Puja, Kumbh Aradhana, Aarti, and Havana, alongside captivating cultural dance performances.

Anticipated Highlights and Grand Finale

One of the most anticipated events of the festival is the Kalyanotsav, scheduled for August 24. Starting at 5 PM, Lord Vaikunthnath will partake in a traditional wedding ceremony with Sridevi and Bhudevi. Following the traditional exchange of garlands and other wedding rituals, the temple will glow under the light of thousands of lamps, with vibrant fireworks adding to the spectacle.

Renowned Bhajan singer Anup Jalota is set to enthrall devotees with his soulful renditions on August 25, immersing them in devotional ecstasy. The grand celebration will conclude on August 26 with the Purnahuti of the Mahayagya and a special Aarti. It's worth noting that the temple underwent extensive renovation, new painting, and beautification over two years leading up to this event.
