CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam Results Out: Nearly 60% Students Improve Scores

This year marked a significant shift, as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced the option for Class 10 students to appear for two board examinations. This initiative was designed to give students a chance to better their scores and ease the pressure of a single high-stakes exam. CBSE has clarified that for regular candidates, the better score from the two examinations will be considered as the final result.

Thousands Seize Opportunity to Boost Marks

According to CBSE, a total of 6,64,027 students registered for the second board examination, with 6,63,777 actually appearing. A large number of these students took the second exam specifically to improve upon their initial scores.

The numbers speak volumes: out of 5,13,955 students who attempted to improve their marks, an impressive 3,08,095 students – nearly 59.95 percent – performed better than their main examination results. This clearly shows the positive impact of having a second chance.

Compartment Category Sees Improvement Too

The second board exam also saw 1,49,822 students from the compartment category take the test. A good chunk of them, 78,503 students, were successful, bringing the pass percentage for this group to 52.40 percent. This is a notable rise from the 48.68 percent recorded in the compartment category last year in 2025.

Bringing together the results from both the main and second board examinations, CBSE reported that the overall Class 10 pass percentage for this year stands at a strong 96.78 percent. The board believes this two-exam system has effectively reduced student stress and offered a valuable opportunity for improvement.

Accessing Your Documents

Students can access their results directly on the Digilocker result portal. Schools will receive students' results and digital academic documents via their registered email IDs. Regular students will get their mark sheets and passing certificates through their respective schools.

For CBSE-affiliated schools abroad, students can also access their digital documents via Digilocker. Private candidates will find their digital documents on Digilocker, while their mark sheets will be mailed to their registered addresses. Private students from Delhi East and Delhi West regional offices also have the option to collect their certificates from their examination centers.

Beware of Unofficial Information

CBSE has urged students and parents to stay clear of unverified social media posts, rumors, or any unofficial information related to the results. The board emphasized that all official announcements regarding results and post-result services, like re-evaluation, will only be issued through CBSE's authorized channels.
