Ansari informed media outlets that the genesis of the conflict traces back to an incident where Tanya Mittal allegedly had a man named Balraj Sahni arrested at Mumbai airport. Simmi Rajput, a mutual acquaintance of both Sahni and Ansari, had then sought Ansari's assistance, leading him to Gwalior to file a complaint against Mittal and demand an investigation.
