'Salman is not God, he cannot stop me':'Kala Hiran' director hits back at release-ban demands, says, 'Many people wear bracelets, it's coincidental'

The film 'Kala Hiran' has been continuously embroiled in controversies since its announcement. The film's character is shown to resemble Salman Khan, and the story is similar to his 1998 blackbuck hunting case; even the poster shows the actor wearing Salman Khan's bracelet. As soon as the poster was released, Salman filed a petition against the filmmakers, demanding a halt to its release. Meanwhile, producer Amit Jani claimed that he has been receiving continuous threats. Now, the film's producer has reacted to the matter, stating that the film is not about Salman. He is not God, nor is he a godfather who can stop them. On the similarity of the bracelet, the film's director Bharat S. Srinathe said in an interview given to News18, 'This bracelet is not a patented item. If Salman thinks only he can wear it, then he should get it patented. Then this bracelet should not be available anywhere else in the world. I completely disagree that this film or its character is based on Salman Khan. Our character is not Salman Khan. This is just a film.' Shrinate further said that the similarity between the film's actor and Salman Khan is merely a coincidence and was not intentionally created. He said, 'Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of Balasaheb Thackeray in the film 'Thackeray'. Prosthetics and makeup were used to make him look like Balasaheb. But nothing of that sort has been done in our film. Our actor naturally looks like Salman.' He further added, 'I cannot change his face. I couldn't even use prosthetics to make him look like someone else. What can be done now? If someone is bothered by this, what can I say about it?'
