Mahesh Manjrekar's wife reveals cancer diagnosis:Medha says 'Lost appetite during treatment'; husband also had battled cancer

Marathi actress and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar's wife, Medha Manjrekar, has revealed that she is battling cancer. The 58-year-old shared an emotional note on Instagram, announcing that she is currently undergoing treatment for the disease. Reflecting on her journey, Medha said she received unwavering support from her husband, Mahesh Manjrekar, as well as her family and friends. She also posted photos from the hospital and candidly spoke about the physical and emotional challenges she has faced during her treatment. Lost appetite during treatment Medha Manjrekar shared that due to the treatment, there came a time when her appetite completely disappeared. During such times, her sister, sister-in-law, and friends took complete care of her. They would bring her favourite foods like dhokla, idli, gulpapdi, and pani-puri. Medha wrote that on a friend's advice, she started drinking cranberry juice in a champagne glass. This small change in the way it was served changed her perspective and brought positivity. Her friends never left her alone during difficult days. Thanked husband Mahesh Manjrekar and close ones In her post, Medha wrote for her husband, Mahesh Manjrekar, "Thank you for just being together, some journeys cannot be undertaken alone." She mentioned that after her illness was diagnosed, her close friends came to India from other continents to meet her and spend time with her. By staying with her, friends prayed and helped distract her from the illness. Marathi film personalities like Swapnil Joshi and Neena Kulkarni commented on Medha's post, encouraging her and wishing her a speedy recovery. Mahesh Manjrekar also had cancer in 2021 This is the second major battle with cancer for the Manjrekar family. Earlier in 2021, Mahesh Manjrekar himself was diagnosed with high-grade urinary bladder cancer. At that time, he underwent a major surgery in a Mumbai hospital, after which he fully recovered. During Mahesh's treatment, Medha emotionally supported and strengthened the entire family. Now that Medha herself is battling this disease, Mahesh and the entire family are standing strong with her. Daughter Sai made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg 3 Medha and Mahesh Manjrekar got married in 1995. Their daughter Sai Manjrekar was born in 2001. Following in her parents' footsteps, Sai made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with Salman Khan's film 'Dabangg 3'. In this film, Medha Manjrekar also played the character of Janaki. Medha is known for brilliant Marathi films like 'Natsamrat' (2016), 'Kaksparsh' (2012), and 'De Dhakka' (2008). She was last seen in the Marathi film 'Ek Radha Ek Meera'.
