The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for a high-level investigation after actor Rajesh Sharma fell seriously ill during the shooting of Prabhas' upcoming film Fauji. The association has urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene and examine whether there was any negligence on the film set. Rajesh Sharma was reportedly bitten by a poisonous insect while filming at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City. The infection spread rapidly from his foot to his knee, forcing him to seek treatment at a hospital in Kolkata. According to doctors, the actor remains in critical condition and is still under close medical observation. AICWA urges Telangana CM to intervene According to news agency IANS, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has sought an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident on the set of Fauji. In a letter addressed to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the association requested his intervention to ensure a thorough probe into the circumstances that led to Rajesh Sharma's medical emergency. The association said it was important to determine how the actor's condition deteriorated to such an extent while he was on set. Although doctors have said Sharma's condition is currently stable, they have also confirmed that the infection remains severe. Questions raised over medical response AICWA has also questioned the production team's handling of the situation, asking why the actor was not rushed to a major hospital in Hyderabad immediately after his health worsened. The association has demanded an inquiry into whether the makers followed the required safety measures, hygiene standards and emergency medical protocols during the shoot. It further stressed that ensuring a safe working environment and prompt medical assistance is a fundamental responsibility of every film production, and called for accountability if any lapses are found. Film producers should bear the full cost of treatment AICWA has demanded that the producers of the film 'Fauji' bear the full cost of Rajesh Sharma's treatment. He should be provided with the best medical facilities until he fully recovers. The association alleged that negligence related to cleanliness and emergency healthcare has often come to light on many shooting sets. Due to fear of losing their jobs, crew members and workers often cannot speak openly about these issues. If any negligence is proven in this matter, responsibility should be fixed. Accident happened after pack-up on set According to Sudipta Chatterjee's social media post, this incident happened at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Rajesh Sharma was shooting for Prabhas's upcoming film there. After the shooting ended, he was talking to local technicians in the area with trees and plants near the set. During this, he was bitten on the leg by an insect or a poisonous spider. At that time, the matter did not seem serious, so he did not seek immediate medical help and continued working. Health Deteriorated During Flight to Kolkata Around six hours after the insect bite, Rajesh Sharma reportedly began experiencing intense pain in his right leg. Despite his worsening condition, he boarded a flight to Kolkata. During the journey, he developed a high fever and his health deteriorated further. After reaching Kolkata, his condition worsened the following day, prompting his family to admit him to Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria. He has been under medical care there for more than a day. Doctors Warn of Serious Infection According to Dr Abhijit Bhattacharya, the infection has spread from Sharma's toe up to his knee, causing large blisters on his leg. While his condition is currently being closely monitored, doctors have said it is too early to predict his recovery.
