“Fatwa issued over Aamir's third-marriage:UP mufti calls it invalid, says relationship with non-Muslim woman is a sin”
A fatwa concerning Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's third marriage was issued in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday afternoon by Shahi Chief Mufti Maulana Chaudhary Ibrahim Hussain. The Mufti stated that, under Shariat (Islamic law), a Muslim man is not permitted to marry a non-Muslim woman who continues to follow her own religion and has not accepted Islam. He said such a marriage is considered invalid under Islamic law, and a Muslim man entering into it is regarded as committing a religious wrong. 2 pictures of Aamir-Gauri's wedding Karni Sena had accused Aamir of ‘love jihad’ Earlier on Tuesday itself, Thakur Gyanendra Singh, National Vice President of Kshatriya Karni Sena, said, ‘’At the age of 61, a common man retires and wants to live a comfortable life with his family. At that age, Aamir Khan has married a Hindu woman for the third time. He is promoting love jihad by marrying Hindu women every time. He is instigating Muslim youth for this. Thakur Gyanendra Singh had written a letter to the Shahi Chief Mufti asking whether this marriage is correct according to Islam. If this is wrong, then why doesn't Aamir Khan get the punishment that is prescribed for common Muslims? He had warned that the protest will continue until Aamir Khan is punished according to law and religion.'' Now, read what the Mufti said in response... Marriage without conversion is wrong: The Quran clearly states that until a non-Muslim woman accepts faith (i.e., accepts the Muslim religion), do not marry her. If a Muslim person knowingly marries a non-Muslim woman, that marriage will be religiously invalid. Nikah valid only upon accepting Quran and Prophet: The real meaning of a non-Muslim woman embracing faith is that she believes only in Allah. She accepts Hazrat Mohammad as the last Prophet (messenger). Besides this, she must have faith in the Quran and God's holy books. She must live life according to Islamic rules and practices. Deceiving first wife is a sin: Marrying a second time while keeping the first wife in deception is a grave sin. According to the Quran, if a person cannot treat his wives equally, cannot bear their expenses or fulfill their rights, then he is not permitted to marry more than once. Prophet Mohammad Sahab had said that the person who deceives is not one of us. Therefore, committing injustice with the first wife is a great sin. According to Islamic law, there is a difference between the two. Marriage with a Christian or Jewish woman is considered permissible after fulfilling certain necessary conditions. Marrying another non-Muslim woman without religious conversion is completely wrong. This is not a final verdict against any one person: The Mufti explained that this religious opinion (fatwa) that has been given is information about a general rule. This is not our final legal or court decision on Aamir Khan's or any particular person's private life. Karni Sena had asked us questions based on a letter, so we have only provided information about the general rules of Islam. The Mufti clarified what the ground reality is of Aamir Khan's third marriage. Whether that woman accepted Islam before marriage or not is a matter of investigation. The decision to directly declare any person guilty or to punish them can only be taken after examining all evidence and the actual status of the nikah.
