The Divya Bhaskar Gujarati Film Awards 2026 were held on June 14, celebrating excellence in Gujarati cinema, theatre, and OTT. Presented by Gujarat Tourism and powered by Tanishq, the event honoured several leading names from the industry. Veteran actor Arvind Vaidya, known for his acclaimed role in Anupama, was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi received the Pride of Cinema Award for his contribution to Indian films. The awards were presented by Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, who felicitated the winners during the ceremony. One of the biggest highlights of the night was the success of the film “Lalo”, which dominated the awards with eight wins, making it the most-awarded film of the evening after crossing the ₹100 crore box office milestone. Sharman Joshi and Deepak Tijori also honoured Sharman Joshi, a well-known actor of Bollywood and Gujarati films, was honoured with the 'Pride of Cinema Award' for his valuable contribution to cinema. Along with this, Bollywood actor and director Deepak Tijori, who was a jury member of the film, was also honored on stage by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi. Darshan Jariwala, Tiku Talsania and social worker Anar Patel also participated specially in this grand event. Arvind Vaidya Receives Lifetime Achievement At the ceremony, senior TV and theater actor Arvind Vaidya was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi. During this, all the artists and audience present in the hall stood up and honored him with applause. After receiving the award, Arvind Vaidya said from the stage that he is not going to retire yet. Two months later, his new play is coming, in which he will do both acting and direction himself. Film 'Lalo' won the most awards with 8 The blockbuster film 'Lalo', which became the first in Gujarati cinema history to earn over 100 crore rupees, made its full impact at this award ceremony as well. The film received the most nominations with 19 in different categories, out of which the film won 8 awards. To celebrate this success, the film's director, producer and entire star cast were present at the ceremony. Many big stars arrived on red carpet Many well-known faces from Bollywood and Gujarati cinema were seen on the red carpet of the award show. These included actress Daisy Shah, Isha Kansara and singer Arvind Vegda. During the ceremony, Gujarati singer Ishani Dave and pop star Swara Ojha mesmerized with their voices, while actress Pooja Joshi gave a dance performance. Besides this, the trio of Manan Desai, Chirayu and Om entertained the audience with their comedy act.
