Swift Action by Bajaj Nagar Police Leads to Arrest of Bike Thieves
Jaipur: In a quick turnaround, Bajaj Nagar police in the capital have cracked a vehicle theft case within 24 hours, apprehending two notorious thieves. Authorities also recovered five two-wheelers from their possession.
The arrested individuals are habitual offenders, with multiple cases already registered against them in various parts of Jaipur city. They have confessed to committing over two dozen thefts across different police station areas in Jaipur.
Operation Led by Senior Officers
DCP East Ranjeeta Sharma stated that all station officers were directed to intensify efforts against vehicle thieves under the supervision of Additional DCP Alok Singhal. Subsequently, teams were formed under the leadership of ACP Malviya Nagar Vinod Sharma and Bajaj Nagar Station House Officer Ramdhan.
Police teams meticulously scoured CCTV footage from the Bajaj Nagar area and its surroundings. Information was also gathered from informers. A blend of modern technology and traditional policing methods helped pinpoint the culprits.
RajCop Application Proves Crucial
Acting on intelligence about motorcycle thieves lurking in the Bajaj Nagar area, a special police team intercepted two youths with a motorcycle. Upon questioning, they identified themselves as Lalit Chauhan and Alok. Neither could produce the necessary documents for the bike.
Police then cross-checked the engine and chassis numbers using the RajCop application, confirming that the motorcycle was indeed stolen. Both Lalit Chauhan and Alok Umarwal were promptly arrested, and the motorcycle was seized.
The accused have admitted to more than two dozen thefts in various parts of Jaipur. They were presented in court and taken on police remand, with further interrogation currently underway.
