Youth Congress Kicks Off 'Panchayat Task Force' in Ajmer

Ajmer, Rajasthan – August 20, 2026: The Indian Youth Congress has officially launched its ambitious 'Panchayat Task Force' (PTF) campaign in Ajmer city. This initiative is designed to significantly boost youth participation in upcoming local body and Panchayati Raj elections across the region.

The primary goal of the PTF is clear: identify young individuals under the age of 39 who show an interest in contesting elections. Once identified, these potential candidates will receive crucial training and organizational support before their names are forwarded to the Pradesh Congress leadership.

Press Briefing Unveils Campaign Details

A press conference to mark the launch was held today at Vrindavan Restaurant in Ajmer, starting at 1 PM. Mohit Malhotra, District President of Ajmer City Youth Congress, shared that the event focused on increasing youth involvement in the Ajmer Municipal Corporation elections.

The briefing saw the presence of several key figures, including Priyanka Sanap, National Co-Incharge and National Secretary of Youth Congress for PTF, and National Convener Arbab Khan. Rishi Tank, Ajmer City Incharge, also attended, alongside Dr. Rajkumar Jaipal, President of Ajmer City District Congress. Candidates for Ajmer North and South, Mahendra Singh Ralawata and Draupadi Koli, respectively, were present, as were Ajmer Youth Congress President Mohit Malhotra and NSUI District President Abhishek Samson.

Grassroots Identification and Support

Priyanka Sanap emphasized the campaign's grassroots approach. She stated that the Youth Congress will actively identify strong young individuals, including former Youth Congress members, who are under 39 and have a solid connection to the ground. Reports on these potential candidates will be compiled and sent to the top leadership to ensure their active participation.

? Did You Know? Local body elections in India, including municipal and panchayat polls, are crucial for grassroots democracy, allowing citizens to directly elect representatives who address local issues and development needs.

Dr. Rajkumar Jaipal added that the Congress party intends to primarily back eligible Youth Congress candidates in the 80 wards of the Ajmer Municipal Corporation, ensuring their participation in the ticket distribution process.

Today, National Secretary Priyanka Sanap is scheduled to visit various wards within the Ajmer Municipal Corporation area. She will engage directly with the public at the grassroots level, aiming to identify and propose names of potential young candidates to the organization's top brass.

All office bearers and youth workers from the Ajmer City District Youth Congress were present at the press conference, demonstrating strong organizational backing for the new initiative.

It's important to remember that while the PTF identifies potential candidates, a recommendation from the task force does not guarantee a ticket. The final selection of candidates will strictly adhere to the party's established procedures.
