Devotion Soars at Mehandipur Balaji Temple on Sawan Friday

Ajmer witnessed a profound display of faith this past Sawan Friday, as the Mehandipur Balaji Temple Kotra Dham became the focal point for a series of special religious ceremonies. Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in the sacred rituals, marking the auspicious occasion.

A highlight of the day was the elaborate consecration of the temple's 12 Jyotirlingas. Each Jyotirlinga received an Abhishek with sugarcane juice, followed by traditional worship conducted according to ancient scriptures. Worshippers themselves joined in, pouring sugarcane juice onto the Shiva Jyotirlingas as part of their devotion.

Vedic Chants and Special Anointing Mark the Day

The entire puja ceremony was meticulously performed by five priests, who resonated the temple precincts with sacred Vedic chants. Their disciplined recitations guided the spiritual proceedings throughout the day, creating an atmosphere of deep reverence.

A particularly unique ritual involved Lord Mahakal, whose idol received a special anointing performed beneath a Bael tree. This specific offering holds significant spiritual importance for devotees of Lord Shiva.

As evening approached, the spiritual fervor continued with a grand Maha Aarti, illuminating the temple with lamps and devotion. Following the Aarti, prasad was offered to the deity and then distributed among the multitude of devotees who had participated wholeheartedly in the day's events.

Priest Amit Joshi of Mehandipur Balaji Temple Kotra Dham clarified that this special anointing and religious program is an annual tradition, observed every year on the occasion of Navami. This reaffirms the temple's commitment to preserving and celebrating its rich spiritual heritage.
