New Car Blaze: Doctor's Swift Action Prevents Tragedy in Ajmer
AJMER: A family's joy over a new car quickly turned into a terrifying ordeal in Ajmer when their recently purchased vehicle burst into flames barely half an hour after leaving the showroom. Fortunately, the quick thinking of Dr. Kushal Goyal, a neurosurgeon at JLN Hospital, averted a major disaster.
Dr. Goyal, who was driving the new Maruti Alto K10, noticed smoke billowing from the bonnet. He immediately pulled the car to the side of the road and safely escorted his mother out of the vehicle.
Incident Details: From Showroom to Roadside Blaze
The incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Goyal, a resident of Anand Nagar in Vaishali Nagar, had just taken delivery of his new Maruti Alto K10, purchased for approximately ₹5.5 lakh. He was returning home with his mother and other family members when the unexpected occurred.
Around 3:00 PM, roughly thirty minutes after departing the showroom at 2:30 PM, smoke began to emerge from the front section of the car in Vaishali Nagar.
Prompt Response Averts Bigger Accident
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Dr. Goyal acted swiftly. He brought the car to a halt and ensured all occupants were safely out. Moments later, flames erupted from under the bonnet.
He promptly alerted the fire department. Municipal Corporation firefighters arrived on the scene without delay and managed to extinguish the blaze before it could engulf the entire vehicle, preventing a much larger accident.
This marks a rare incident in Ajmer where a new car has caught fire so soon after its purchase and delivery. Following the successful firefighting operation, the damaged car was transported back to the showroom with the help of a tow vehicle for further investigation into the cause of the fire.
