Municipal Dumper Targeted in Ajmer Theft

Ajmer witnessed a brazen act of theft as an unknown group of miscreants targeted a municipal corporation dumper, making off with two batteries and approximately 5,000 rupees in cash. The incident reportedly took place on Monday night, right in front of the city's prominent Daulat Bagh.

The theft came to light on Tuesday morning when the dumper driver, Gopal Sen, arrived at the spot. He found the vehicle's windows shattered and the valuable items missing. Sen promptly reported the crime to the authorities.

Driver Recounts Ordeal

Gopal Sen, who has been working as a dumper driver for the Ajmer Municipal Corporation for about three years, explained his routine. His job involves collecting city waste and transporting it to designated disposal sites. On Monday night, he parked the dumper as usual near Daulat Bagh before heading home.

Upon his return the next morning, the damage was evident. Besides the broken glass, a quick check revealed that two batteries were gone from the dumper. Adding to his woes, a diary kept inside the vehicle, containing around 5,000 rupees in cash, was also stolen. It's suspected the thieves first broke a window, then unlocked the vehicle to gain entry.

Police Launch Manhunt

Following Sen's complaint, the Kotwali Police Station has initiated an investigation. Officers are now actively reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, hoping to identify the culprits. The police are working to piece together clues from the surveillance videos to track down those responsible for the theft.
