Ajmer Sees Bold Burglary: ₹3.5 Lakh Valuables Vanish From Closed Home

Ajmer continues to grapple with a surge in theft incidents. The latest case comes from the Alwar Gate police station area, where audacious thieves broke into a locked house, making off with goods valued at approximately ₹3.5 lakh.

The victim, retired teacher Manju Sharma, was away in Ahmedabad at the time of the incident, visiting her daughter and seeking medical consultation.

Details Emerge as Victim Returns Home

According to reports, Manju Sharma had left for Ahmedabad on July 30. On the morning of August 1, her neighbours alerted her by phone, informing her that the main door of her house was found open. Upon receiving the unsettling news, she rushed back to Ajmer, arriving on the evening of August 3.

Her fears were confirmed upon reaching home. The main door's lock was broken, and the contents of the rooms inside were scattered everywhere, indicating a thorough ransacking by the perpetrators.

The thieves made away with a range of valuable items. This included two silver thrones, religious idols placed upon them, a heavy silver amulet, a necklace, and several expensive sarees meant for her daughter's wedding. Shockingly, the culprits even went to the extent of uprooting and stealing taps and fittings from the house. Fortunately, cash and primary jewellery were kept safe in a bank locker, thus escaping the thieves' grasp.

Police Launch Investigation, Scrutinize CCTV Footage

Upon receiving the report, personnel from the Alwar Gate police station promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. The police are now actively examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, hoping to identify the thieves and expedite their arrest.
