Vigilant Neighbor Thwarts Daylight Theft Attempt in Ajmer
Ajmer witnessed a dramatic turn of events on Thursday afternoon when a daylight theft attempt was successfully thwarted by the quick thinking and loud shouts of an alert neighbor. The incident, which unfolded in the LIC Colony of the Krishna Ganj police station area, saw three individuals attempting to burgle a residence.
According to reports, the three suspected thieves arrived on a motorcycle. Two of the individuals remained on the bike, acting as lookouts, while the third scaled the wall of a house belonging to Preeti Agarwal, wife of Amit Agarwal.
Once inside the premises, the intruder immediately targeted the water meter, attempting to dismantle and steal it. However, the entire operation was being observed from across the street.
A vigilant neighbor, noticing the suspicious activity, began recording the incident on his mobile phone. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he started shouting loudly, drawing attention to the ongoing crime.
The sudden commotion sent a jolt through the thieves. The two accomplices waiting outside on the bike immediately panicked and sped away from the scene. The burglar inside the house, startled by the shouts, also quickly scaled the wall again to make his escape.
In their haste and fear, the fleeing thief left behind the broken water meter, their intended loot. The incident highlights the crucial role community vigilance can play in deterring criminal activities.
