Bold Daytime Heist Rocks Ajmer General Store

Ajmer witnessed a brazen daytime robbery on Friday morning, leaving a general store owner short by ₹52,000. Two bike-borne individuals pulled off the heist near the Central Jail intersection on Jaipur Road, using a simple request for a cold drink as their cover. The entire incident was caught on the store's surveillance cameras.

The daring theft unfolded around 9:45 AM. The duo arrived at the general store, appearing like any other customers. They asked shopkeeper Devandas for a cold drink, setting their plan in motion.

The Deceptive Tactic Unfolds

As Devandas turned to fetch the beverage from inside the shop, one of the culprits seized the opportunity. He swiftly opened the cash register, grabbing the ₹52,000 stored within. Without even taking the cold drink, both men quickly mounted their bike and sped away from the scene.

Their escape route reportedly took them from Jaipur Road towards Agra Gate and Gandhi Bhawan. Beyond the store's internal CCTV, reports suggest their flight was also captured by cameras linked to the Abhay Command Centre, potentially providing crucial leads for investigators.

Captured on Camera, Police Hunt Underway

Devandas, the bewildered shopkeeper, grew suspicious of the duo's hurried departure. A quick check of his cash register confirmed his fears – the money was gone. He promptly filed a complaint at the Civil Lines Police Station.

Police are now meticulously reviewing the CCTV footage from the store and the Abhay Command Centre. They aim to identify the culprits and map out their escape trajectory. Authorities maintain confidence, asserting that arrests will be made soon, and the case will be cracked.
