According to family sources, Sunil breathed his last at the same hospital where his father, Dev Anand, passed away in 2011. The news of his demise was confirmed by his niece, Gina Narang, through an official statement. The family has requested privacy as they grieve the loss of a loved one. Made his acting debut with Anand Aur Anand Sunil Anand began his acting career in 1984 with Anand Aur Anand, a film directed by his father, Dev Anand. The movie marked his Bollywood debut and introduced him as the next generation of the Anand family. He later appeared in films such as Car Thief and Main Tere Liye. Despite his efforts, Sunil could not replicate the immense success and popularity enjoyed by his father. Over time, he stepped away from acting and chose to focus on work behind the scenes, staying away from the limelight while remaining associated with filmmaking. Carried forward the legacy of Navketan Films After stepping away from acting, Sunil Anand took charge of Navketan Films, the iconic production house founded by his father, Dev Anand. He oversaw the banner's operations for several years and played a key role in preserving the legacy of one of Hindi cinema's most celebrated production houses. Working largely behind the scenes, Sunil focused on managing the company's affairs and ensuring that Dev Anand's contribution to Indian cinema continued to be remembered. Although he stayed away from the spotlight, he remained committed to carrying forward the vision and legacy of the Anand family. Leaves behind his mother and sister Sunil Anand is survived by his 94-year-old mother, veteran actress Kalpana Kartik, and his sister, Devika. The two currently reside in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Sunil was the only son of legendary actor Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik, one of Hindi cinema's most admired screen couples. His death marks the end of the direct male lineage of the iconic Anand family in Bollywood.
